Tyko Axelsson

Tyko Axelsson had a unique life in the glass industry, with nearly 90 years in the profession. He was born in 1917, and already as an eight-year-old he started working at the Alsterfors glass factory in his spare moments after school. He became an industrial designer and was very productive as a designer, while also holding other positions at the glassworks. He came to Reijmyre in 1957 and stayed until his retirement. During his 25 years at Reijmyre he produced, among other things, a large number of forms for figurine production. His much appreciated tea light holders Pärlan, and the slightly larger Cascade, were designed in the 1960s and are considered as modern classics.
